Installation Tips - Free Literature

Installation Tips, the UK Copper Board’s popular free reference book for plumbers, contains technical advice and tips for the best installation of copper tube and fittings. Copies are available to Copper Club members and can be requested by contacting the UK Copper Board. Copies are available as individual pdfs (contents list).

Several thousand copies have already been distributed to installers. Positive feedback has been received, especially students who are using it as a learning aid for their training.

Bending copper tubes, planning and positioning pipework, pipe sizing and Legionella are just several topics covered in the reference book, distributed to members of the UK Board’s Copper Club.

The UK Copper Board extends its Installation Tips series with new articles written by Brian Curry, Director of Learn Plumbing Ltd.

Solar Hot Water Systems- This new Tip on solar hot water systems is available to download. The Tip describes the main types of solar collectors - flat-plate and evacuated glass-tube - and gives information on how to design a system. With increasing demand for solar systems in the UK, it is important that plumbers have a good working knowledge of these types of systems.

Revised Tips on domestic gas installations - The Installation Tips on domestic gas installations have been significantly revised. Part 1 - Pipe sizing - now uses appliances with ratings in kW. A fully worked pipe sizing exercise is included . Part 2 - Installation & testing - looks at how to run pipework in walls and floors.
