SkillPLUMB 2010 - South of England heat
Barking and Dagenham College hosted a superb day on 11th May for Skilll M&E and Skillbuild with a host of activities organised for the local business community.
Celebrity Tommy Walsh launched the event, and spent time at each competition talking to competitors and organisers. A VIP lunch was also laid on for sponsors and competition hosts to network with local employers and dignitaries. The day culminated in a joint Skill M&E and SkillBuild awards ceremony to announce the top three in each category.
Neil Collishaw, head of skills competitions at SummitSkills, said: "They have been a tremendously successful set of heats and I was extremely pleased to see the huge number of visitors supporting the competitions. Tommy Walsh entertained us with stories about his own humble path to success, and his words of encouragement really touched a chord with competitors and visitors alike."
